About
I am a full-time software developer, who has worked the last decade in various office environments, while living in a big city.
Munky Wurkz is my new writing project, which captures the most interesting stuff I have learned and observed, both on-the-job and off. It is meant to help others see the World’s ordinary circumstances a bit differently from before, and to be more effective in reaching our goals.
In short, I believe that Good work helps, but that there are all sorts of other work being done as well, and much of it does not help in the least.
Your ideas on this topic are warmly welcomed!
You may notice (if you spend any time stumbling around in this website) that there are also so off-topic, very personal posts. These are leftover from the blog’s previous incarnation, where it was primarily a personal journal. I had reasons for leaving each of them online (and may occasionally add other personal posts in the future).
Disclosure on Advertising
I recently read that anyone who publishes on the Web and does any sort of advertising, must have a “disclosure” page, due to a new FTC guideline.
This is going to be a work-in-progress for me, but I figured I had better start writing something up sooner rather than later..
The bottom line is, I advertise on my web sites and blogs. Right now, I am not making any money at it, but I intend to do so.
Clicking on any link in anything I publish could possibly result in a commission being paid by a third-party to me. Don’t worry – it doesn’t cost you a dime.
Credits
Everything in technology depends on something else.
Some of what I use on my blogs and websites, I pay for. Some of it is available free. For example, the nifty monkey image for this website – is used free of charge. It came from the Open Clipart Library. Try it out – they have a lot of nice stuff, I think.
More credit: The question mark icon for the My Hat’s Off feature also comes from the Open Clipart Library.
And more credit: The profile photo which I use in the website’s banner and on the Facebook fan page was adapted from a photo taken by my good friend Eve Dilworth, during a day-hike in New Paltz.
Some of the other technology on which my online publishing depends (in no particular order):
- Blogger.com
- WordPress
- Google Docs
- Amazon’s Kindle for Blogs
- SiteGround
- Adsense
- And, my much-loved Lenovo netbook
Thanks also to my wife, for her supportive words.

I am also the administrator and/or writer of the following projects:
